KPL WEEKEND 23 PREVIEW: GOR BATTLE STIMA, AFC SEEK TO COMPOUND CHEMELIL WOES

The Kenyan premier league gameweek 22 will be played this weekend, with four games on saturday while another four will complete the weekend roster on Sunday.

SATURDAY

GOR MAHIA VS WESTERN STIMA

Gor Mahia last beat the powermen in 2017 and will be looking for maximum points after they drew 1-1 in the first leg.

Kogalo will be missing the services of stalwart Joash Onyango who saw red in the same fixture in Kisumu but will highly rely on dependable captain Kenneth Muguna who has been involved in 19 goals this seasons; 7 goals and 12 assists.

Stima meanwhile are winless in their last six matches having drawn three and lost three and will be without Villa Oromchan while the task will be upon 17- year old prodigy Benson Omalla to bang goals for the powermen.

CHEMELIL VS AFC LEOPARDS

Ingwe have beaten Chemelil four times in a row and this on paper should be an easy fixture for Leopards who hammered the same opponent 4-0 in the first leg.

The millers have only two wins in the season and have conceded the highest number of goals in the division(62) in 21 games.

KISUMU ALL STARS VS TUSKER

Bottom placed Kisumu All Stars will be looking to avenge a 2-0 first leg loss to the Brewers. The Blue Eagles have gone eleven games without a win and have only garnered eight points in as many matches.

Tusker will be looking to bounce back to winning ways after a one all draw against Wazito last time out.

SOFAPAKA VS ULINZI STARS

The last three games between this two bigwigs have ended in draws and in the last 17 games Sofapaka has won five times drawing six while Ulinzi has six wins.

Sofapaka warmed to this fixture with a 4-1 win over K-Star while Ulinzi beat Spitfire F.C 4-0 at the Moi Airbase grounds in preparations for this tie.

SUNDAY

POSTA RANGERS VS MATHARE UNITED

Both clubs are on 29 points and both were beaten 3-1 in their last league games.

Having met eleven times in the league, Posta has 2 wins, Mathare 3 wins while six of their matches have ended in draws.

WAZITO VS ZOO KERICHO

Wazito are unbeaten in this matchup having beaten the Kericho side twice and drawn once.

Wazito have scored their last three goals in the dying minutes of the game and coach Stewart Hall has promised on Killing the game early.

Zoo have gone 810 minutes of football without a win.

KCB VS BANDARI

The bankers last beat the dockers in 2013 and went down 2-1 in Mombasa in the first leg.

KCB will be banking on Enock Agwanda for goals while Bandari has Hassan ‘Starboy’ Abdallah back and will be leading the side upfront.

KAMEGA HOMEBOYZ VS NZOIA SUGAR

The second highest scoring side in the league Homeboyz will be going for a double over the millers when headcoach Nicholas Muyoti face his former side.

Homeboyz are unbeaten in their last 11 games while Nzoia Sugar are winless in their last 15 games and playing at their own backyard, Homeboyz will be under pressure as they continue to keep in touch with the league leaders.
